Defending against Attacks by Enhancing Security Using Biometrics in Semantic Web

چکیده
Semantic Web is maturing day by day and data and information integration is growing and becoming crucial. Security is one of the key features of the future Internet‟s security. So it is necessary harnessing the synergy in biometrics and in Semantic Web. It can leverage the lack of widely accepted biometrics security standards along with Semantic Web technologies to protect, represent, store and query metadata and data across biometrics datasets. However, the success of security mostly relies on user profiles. Therefore, a biometric user profile is crucial for service providers for the uptake of security services of Semantic Web. Biometric systems provide the solution to ensure that the rendered services are accessed only by a legitimate user and no one else. The security is dependent on the secrecy trustworthiness of the authentication because deeper the trust level of authenticator, stronger will be security of Semantic Web.

Biometric Authentication of Fingerprint for Banking Users, Using Stream Cipher Algorithm
Providing banking services, especially online banking and electronic payment systems, has always been associated with high concerns about security risks. In this paper, customer authentication for their transactions in electronic banking has been discussed, and a more appropriate way of using biometric fingerprint data, as well as encrypting those data in a different way, has been suggest...
متن کاملSEIMCHA: a new semantic image CAPTCHA using geometric transformations
As protection of web applications are getting more and more important every day, CAPTCHAs are facing booming attention both by users and designers. Nowadays, it is well accepted that using visual concepts enhance security and usability of CAPTCHAs. There exist few major different ideas for designing image CAPTCHAs. Some methods apply a set of modifications such as rotations to the original imag...
متن کاملImproving Tor security against timing and traffic analysis attacks with fair randomization
The Tor network is probably one of the most popular online anonymity systems in the world. It has been built based on the volunteer relays from all around the world. It has a strong scientific basis which is structured very well to work in low latency mode that makes it suitable for tasks such as web browsing. Despite the advantages, the low latency also makes Tor insecure against timing and tr...
متن کاملA collusion attack on the fuzzy vault scheme
The Fuzzy Vault scheme is an encryption scheme, which can tolerate errors in the keys. This leads to the possibility of enhancing the security in environments where these errors can be common, such as biometrics storage systems. Although several researchers have provided implementations, we find that the scheme is vulnerable to attacks when not properly used. This paper describes an attack on t...
متن کاملDefending Against XML-Based Attacks Using State-Based XML Firewall
With the proliferation of service-oriented systems and cloud computing, web services security has gained much attention in recent years. Web service attacks, called XML-based attacks, typically occur at the SOAP message level, thus they are not readily handled by existing security mechanisms such as a conventional firewall. In order to provide effective security mechanisms for service-oriented ...
